Fees and Rebates
The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends $311 for a 50-minute therapy session. To improve accessibility we charge a reduced rate of $240 for appointments during business hours (9am-5pm) and $260 for appointments before 9am or after 5pm. Under a Mental Health Care Plan, the Medicare Rebate available for each consultation is $141.85, leaving a gap payment of $98.15 ($118.15 before 9am or after 5pm) for clients. See below for further details regarding medicare rebates. Consultation sessions are 50-minutes in duration.
Payment is due at the time of session. The practice has electronic payment facilities by credit card only, accepting all major credit cards except Diners. To process payment, clients will be asked to complete a credit card authorisation form as part of the online intake form. For more information about how your credit card details are securely stored, please read the FAQ section from Halaxy (the online booking system).
Fees
Medicare Rebates
We are registered with Medicare to provide services under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative. This initiative allows individuals to claim a rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. To obtain this rebate, you will require a referral from your General Practitioner (GP) or a Psychiatrist. For more information about the Better Access Initiative, please visit to the APS website.
DVA (Department of Veterans Affairs) Cards
We cannot process transactions with private health insurance. However, at the conclusion of each session, you can organise rebates with your insurance provider. We will provide you with an invoice after each session via email, which will have the information needed to assist with this process.
Health Fund Rebates
Since the scheduling of an appointment involves a reservation of time specifically for you, a minimum of 48 hours (two days' notice) is required for rescheduling or cancelling an appointment. Late cancellation or failure to attend with less than 24 hours’ notice will attract the full fee. For appointments cancelled with 24 to 48 hours’ notice, 50% of the full fee will be charged. Please also note, cancellation fees cannot be claimed through Medicare or your health fund.
Please note that our practice administration is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, therefore, to cancel a Monday or Tuesday appointment without penalty, cancellations must be made by Friday of the previous week.
Cancellation Fees
We are able to accept DVA Gold and White cards for therapy sessions. All sessions using DVA cards are bulk-billed. To be eligible, you will need a DVA referral from your GP. This will allow you up to at least 12 sessions, with the possibility of additional sessions after review by your GP.
